Overview
Cut+Dry's customer segmentation dashboard provides you with accurate adoption metrics by properly categorizing your customer base. The dashboard divides customers into four distinct groups, allowing you to track realistic conversion rates and focus your efforts on the right accounts.
To get meaningful metrics, you need to properly tag your customers as active and eligible for Cut+Dry. This article walks you through the process and best practices. Accurate tagging takes some initial effort, but it provides much more meaningful adoption metrics for planning and reporting purposes.
Customer Base Dashboard

Your dashboard displays four customer categories that work together to give you a complete picture of your adoption potential:
- Total Customers - The complete count of all customers imported into the Portal from your customer file.
- Active Customers - Customers you've tagged as currently active in your business.
- Eligible for Cut+Dry - Active customers who are eligible to use Cut+Dry (not restricted by contracts or operational factors).
- Ordered on Cut+Dry - Customers who have placed at least one order through the Cut+Dry platform.
Key Benefits
- Accurate Adoption Rates – See real conversion percentages from customers who can actually switch to Cut+Dry and view metrics that reflect true business performance.
- Better Business Planning – Make decisions based on realistic customer potential rather than inflated total counts.
- Better Business Planning – Make decisions based on realistic customer potential rather than inflated total counts.
Segment your customers
The easiest and fastest way to see an accurate count on the dashboard, is to manually segment your customers in Cut+Dry. You need to change the customer's status and eligibility.
Tag Active Customers
1. Select Customers from the navigation menu, then select a customer.

2. In the account activity section, locate the field Account Status.

3. Click Edit, then select Active or Inactive.

Active Customers are customers who placed orders with your business within a certain time period and are currently part of your regular customer base.
Best Practices for Active Tagging: Active = customers who have ordered in the last 12 months. Consider seasonal customers who order regularly but not continuously and include customers on temporary hold but expected to resume ordering.
4. When done, click Save.

Use bulk actions to update multiple customers at once
1. In the customer list, select multiple customers.

2. Click Bulk Actions, then Update Status.

3. Select Active or Inactive, then click Save.

Tag Eligible Customers
1. Select Customers from the navigation menu, then select a customer.

2. In the account activity section, locate the field Eligible for Cut+Dry.

3. Click Edit, then select Yes or No.

Eligible Customers are customers who can realistically adopt the Cut+Dry platform, meaning they're not bound by exclusive contracts with other ordering systems and are operationally suitable for online ordering.
4. When done, click Save.
Tip: You can also update the Eligible for Cut+Dry using the bulk actions.
Send us the data through the integration
You can also send us the active and eligible data through the integration. Integration setup requires field mapping and data formatting, which takes additional time compared to manual tagging.
1. In your file, add a column for Account Status and a column for Eligible for Cut+Dry.
2. Contact your Onboarding Analyst and Growth Manager to get started with the mapping process.
3. When the mapping is completed, the data will be visible in Cut+Dry.
Adjust your settings
The last step is to adjust your settings so we can count the proper number of eligible customers.
1. Select Settings from the navigation menu, then click Company.

2. Scroll down to the Eligible Count for Cut+Dry section. You have three options to count who is eligible for Cut+Dry:

- Use “Active Customer” tag: best for those who already send us customer status tags and have a large customer base. This will be a good way to get started while you work with the team to send the Eligible for Cut+Dry tag through the integration. Important: your customer base funnel will have the same number of customers in the active and eligible sections, and the adoption percentage will be inaccurate.
- Use “Eligible for Cut+Dry” tag: the most accurate way to measure, and it gives you a proper funnel in the dashboard.
- Use Custom count: best for those who have a large customer base and already know how many customers are eligible through the ERP.
3. Click Save.
