Change customer-specific settings
Find out how to update customer-specific settings such as delivery days and catalog access.
Overview
You can customize individual customer settings via their Customer Profile page. Everyone on your team should have the same access to edit these settings.
Tip: For detailed information on adding a new customer user, refer to Add a new user to a customer account.
Follow these steps to update the settings for one of your customers.
Access customer-specific settings
- Select Customers from the navigation menu.
- Find and select your customer.
Tip: You can search by Salesperson, use the customer filters, or start typing into the search box.
- On the customer's Profile tab, change any setting by selecting the Edit icon next to it.
Review customer-specific settings
As Cut+Dry works with each distributor partner at onboarding to provide the services you need, some of the Profile settings shown may or may not be editable in your particular setup.
Details section
Tip: Please note that Customer Code, Customer Name, and Shipping Address can NOT be changed by your team.
- A customer can change their own name or address in the app, but you cannot.
- Customer Code is an unchangeable field.
-
Delivery Days: View the delivery days assigned to that customer as read from your ERP.
Tip: This setting is generally not editable. In rare cases, an ERP cannot sync Delivery Days, or you may wish to have different delivery days (or cutoff times) for different customers. Contact Distributor Support to make this field editable.
-
Order Minimum: Change the minimum amount a customer must have in their cart before an order will go through.
Tip: This setting, as set up during your onboarding, is generally not editable. Contact Distributor Support to make this field editable on a by-customer basis.
- Customer Group: Optionally choose to assign the customer to a group; these groups are a field you can filter customers by when viewing your Customer list.
- Salesperson: Refer to Add or remove a salesperson on a customer account for detailed information on using this setting.
-
Order Approval: Switch on the order approval workflow for each customer, for each order guide, either individually or as a group.
Tip: This can also be done in the individual order guide settings, by you or by the customer. For more information on the order approval workflow, refer to Configure customer order guide settings.
-
Catalog Access: Change whether or not customers can access the Catalog button option at the top of their order guides.
Tip: This setting, as set up during your onboarding, is editable if you had chosen it to be. Contact Distributor Support to make this field editable.
- Notes: Use this internal-only text field if helpful for your team.
Account Activity section
- Visibility: Hide a customer from the default Customer list. These customers can be found later by changing the filters on your Customer list.
- Status: Mark a customer as Inactive, which hides them from the default Customer list. These customers can be found later by changing the filters on your Customer list.
-
Account Holds: View or change the account status markers as read from your ERP. These holds affect customer ordering.
Tip: If edited within the Cut+Dry platform, the customer's ordering experience will change immediately. This selection will again match your ERP the next time your ERP data syncs with the platform; please ensure that you change status in both places to maintain functionality.
- Credit Hold: The customer can still place orders but will be notified they are near or over their credit limit.
- General Hold: The customer can still place orders but will be notified to contact you.
- Hard Hold: The customer is prevented from placing orders.
- Rebate Status: Include or exclude the customer from any rebate program.
- Tags: Assign tag(s) to a customer, usable as another filter for your Customer list. To create your own tags, contact Distributor Support.
